Materials, crews and machines that can be paid for before the customer pays.
Contractors and builders
Hall County, NE counted 245 construction employers in 2023, 60.4% with fewer than five employees, plus 680 construction businesses with no payroll in 2024 (NES). Materials, crews and draws that can arrive weeks after the work are a shared thread. The contractor funding page covers retainage, equipment and payroll.
Plumbing, heating and AC contractors
Thirty-four mechanical contractors had employees in 2023, and 15 had a ZIP 68801 address. Service vans, parts stock and equipment that must be bought before a job is billed are the funding needs to compare. Read plumbing and HVAC business funding.
Home builders
Residential building construction had 52 employer establishments, 84.6% with fewer than five employees, and 215 nonemployer builders in 2024 (NES). A builder may carry lots and materials for months; working capital covers payroll and subcontractor bills between draws. Construction loans for the house itself are real-estate lending and are not one of the six options.
Drywall, painting, flooring and other finishing trades
Building finishing contractors numbered 32, with 217 employees, and in a separate program 163 had no payroll (NES 2024). Finishing crews can come late in a job and may be paid last, so a line of credit that refills between jobs is one structure to compare.
Site prep and other specialty trades
Other specialty trade contractors (NAICS 2389), which include site preparation, numbered 25 with 221 employees. Skid steers, trailers and compact excavators are major purchases that equipment financing can cover, new or used.
Electrical contractors
Sixteen electrical contractors had employees in 2023, averaging about 9.9 employees each by our arithmetic. Wire and fixtures bought for commercial jobs can tie up cash for a full billing cycle; working capital can bridge it.
Concrete and foundation contractors
Poured concrete foundation and structure contractors numbered 16, with 220 employees. Pumps, forms and mixers can be expensive and long-lived, which can point to equipment loans or leases rather than short-term money.
Roofing contractors
Fifteen roofers had employees, and 80.0% of them had fewer than five. A small crew buying shingles and underlayment ahead of a job might use a line of credit for material purchases.
Commercial builders
Nonresidential building construction had 12 employer establishments but 213 employees, about 17.8 per firm by our arithmetic. Larger projects can mean larger equipment and expansion decisions, where a term loan may be compared with equipment financing.
Landscaping and lawn care
Landscaping services had 28 employer establishments and 87 nonemployer operators (NES 2024). Mowers, trailers and trucks are purchases a crew may finance. Landscaping business funding covers equipment and uneven months.
Janitorial and cleaning businesses
Janitorial services had 23 employers (78.3% under five employees) and 215 nonemployer operators in 2024 (NES). Business loans for a cleaning business can cover payroll while commercial clients pay on invoice terms; working capital is one option for that gap.
